Satisfied that they had been driven off, tails between their legs, Kuy relaxed his muscles. He was feeling to stiff right now. He turned to look at Kah, and saw her paw twitch, and for a second he thought she was awake but when he dashed to her side, he knew she wasn't. He sighed and looked up.

"We have to get her out of here, before they bring the entire pack."

Kuy picked up Kahlan and put her across his back. Even with the hinderance Kuy seemed to be moving faster then us. Palaina told me we were moving faster then they had when they came to find us. Then again that could be because we now know where we can take short cuts and we don't have to watch the tracks.

By this time night had fallen and we were close to the den. Kuy set Kahlan down and we were resting for a moment.

Even in her drunken stupor, he still thought she was beautiful. He worried about her and the pups and thought about something.

"Wait, what did they feed you?" He inquired.

Of course. It roared through my head. It must have been the food. i didn't have any and that was the only thing other then the pups that we have had diffrent.

I looked up to Kuy. "They gave us these dried pebble looking things. Kahlan said they tasted bad, but even though she said this I gave her mine she needed more food to eat."

Palaina moved closer to me. I looked away even more worried then I was before.

He thought about it for a moment, running any possibility through his mind. Maybe they put something in the food to make sure if they ever escaped, they would be found shortly after? Then she could be alright.

"I was thinking, maybe they put something into the food that would slow you guys down, and since she ate both of yours, she got to much in her system?"

He wouldn't put it past them to do something like that.

"I'm not sure but I hope she's better soon."


Kuy then picked Kahlna back up again and we were once again on our way. We got back to camp about an hour or two after that. Kuy said that we should go to bed and he'd take Kah into the room for the nigh. I lay there trying to sleep for hours and when I finally did it was fret full with horrible dreams. Of my mother, Jake and what could happen to Kah.

I felt her sleeping uneasy and when I tried to calm her it didn't work well for in a couple of minutes she'd be at it again.

He sighed and curled up next to her and tried to sleep but his worries kept him up. Finally he was able to catch a wink of sleep.

I opened an eye, and the scent of the den whirled around me. My head was pounding, and I couldn't feel my legs. When I could finally lift my head, I knew I was regaining movement slowly. I licked his ear lightly, and even that movement made me drop my head back to my paws. I hated feeling so helpless. I was a bit drowsy for some reasonm but I forced myself to stay awake, fearing what would happen if I slipped into the dreams of my mind.

I woke with a start I was afrai that maybe we were still in the cages where they were holding us. Before I even opened my eyes I knew I was wrong and we were back in the den. When I woke Palaina was already awake. When he felt me moving around he rubbed his muzzle against my neck. I smiled slightly. Then I remembered Kahlan.

I jumped up and ran into the livingroom.

I groaned. I didn't move any limbs, for I was conserving my strength. After waking up, I was slow at regaining movement, but now I knew I could everything. I had lifted my head and rested it on his back while I waited, waited for anyone to get up. I heard commotion in the living room.

"Hello?" I asked, my voice hoarse. I knew I need something to drink.

I smiled widly when I heard Kahlan's voice. "Kahlan," I whispered surprised to hear her voice. She walked out slowly like she could barley move.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah I'm fine, just a sec." I went outside, where a new blanket of snow had fallen. I lapped up a mouthful of snow and let it melt in my mouth. I sighed when the cool liquid ran down my parched throat. Limping back inside, as one of my back paws was hurting a bit, and didn't want to put pressure on it I looked up.

"Now I feel better," I said smiling, and my voice sounding much better.

I looked at her and a smile bee,ed off my face. She was okay.

"So, I'm guessing you would like to know what had happened." When she nodded I continued on. "You passed out and we came to the conclusion it was because of the food. While you were passed out we happened to be in my father's territory." I sighed then continued on.

"My ex love intrest, ex best friend, my half brother, and three others come to us. We had to chase them away. Then we ended back up here last night. THen you woke up. Happily I might add we were all so worried."

"Aww, I missed all the action!" I kiddingly complained as she told me the story. I laughed, I was feeling much better now, albeit a bit hungry.

"I feel like eating some REAL food, I'm starving," I said looking around our empty den. I figured they had ceared the den of what was left and now that was all left was the warm glow from the fire pit. I looked back up at her. "So I gander I've been knocked out for a day now, and I'm glad I woke up to." I said, with a smile.

"Yeah about a day, but hey I will be right back do not move." I ordered her then I turnded and sprinted of the livingroom then back into my room where Palaina was still sleeping.

I pounced onto him and licked his face. "Wake up...Wake up...HELLO WAKE UP!!!!" Suddenly I wasn't on top of him any more and he was on top of me. I burst into a fit of laughter. He kept licking my face.

"What do you want? You woke me up you should know not to do that." He said laughing also. I licked his face on last time.

"She's awake! She's awake!" I screamed in his face. He backed up and sat down turning his head to the side. Then he broke into a great smile and ran from our room with me right on his heels.

He skidded to a stop in front of Kahlan. "See I told you she was awake." I said smiling. "And she and I to are starving." I said politely.

"Hi," I said when I saw the two come tumbling into the room. I smiled. "Yes, food." I got up from where I was sitting and turned and walked back into my room. It was time for Kuy to wake up to. When I entered, he had sprawled out his limbs and I couldn't help chuckle. I licked his face a couple times before he opened his eyes and jumped to his paws.

"Oh!" He said, he started licking my cheek. His tail was moving so fast behind him, I thought he woulda fell over, and I giggled. "Good morning to you too, love." I said, leading the way out of our den, my tail shaking lazily. I was glad to finally be feeling top-shape now.
