Snowy Forest

I coughed and shook my pelt a little to warm myself. She hadn't returned my call and I had lost her scent trail, and I was getting worried until I picked up her scent again. Then I heard her making sounds. Even though I didn't want to admit it, I was moving slower because of the tree-slamming I recieved. I realized what she was trying to do, she must have figured out what I was following her for. The blood of the lion was getting stronger in the air as I realized the wind was picking up and tossing snow, pretty much covering my only trail.

Normally the cold didn't have this affect on me as I shivered where I stood. I had to stop walking because the shievering seemed to have elevated to muscle spasms, but they shortly died down. I shook it off, not thinking clearly, obviously. I started out again, wanting to atleast say bye and ask Anakalia to stay one more night before adventuring out. I was thankful that the shivering had stopped.

I looked out into the night. Crap it had started to snow again. At least now i knew that Kahlan and Kuy couldn't find me. I needed to sit down. I walked over to a tree and sat under the branches where the snow wouldn't get to me as much. It had been a while since i had smelled the last of the mountain lions, but that could possibly be because the wind going against me. I laid down under the tree and fell asleep.
I awoke to something nudging my leg.

Kuy growled as she didn't seem to awake. For a second he thought she was causing a lot of problems, but he was glad it was two more lions no need to worry about. His tracking was in excellant condition as he had found Anakalia after getting Kah home. He nudged her leg now.

I couldn't remember walking home. I awoke in my den, alone. I got to my feet, my legs shaking underneath me. Slowly I went to the main chamber. To my surprise and happiness, there was a deer waiting for me. Hunger welled up deep in my stomach, making a growling noise. My mouth started to water as I made my way over and dug into the meal. I savored the warm flesh, sighing with content as my empty belly began to fill.

I did not know how long I had been out, it didn't seem to be long, considering how my back still hurt, even with the pain recedeing as it was. I was gracious I could take pain as well as I could, for any normal wolf would be withering in pain. However it wasn't surprising to realized that I must've blacked out in the snow and Kuy or Anakalia had brought me home, however Anakalia's scent was stale. She had yet to have been here recently.

[Anakalia]

I stood up fast in shock how could i had let anything sneak up on me. I needed to be more vigaliant. I looked up to find Kuy. I looked him in the eyes under standing he was a little agravaited with me. I was just trying to leave so there would be no more trouble.
"How is Kahlan is she safe?"
I asked in a worried tone. Though i had known them both for little over a day i considered them friends.
"I am so sorry to have inconvinunced you. It was a mistake. I am going to the area my pack used to live at least close by where i no the land. Please tell Kahlan it was very gracious of her to let me in to your home. I thank you for your time and paticnece."
I shock roughly at the snow in my fur. Then turned around.
Over my shoulder i whispered "Good Bye Kuy."

Laughter sparked in his bright blue eyes, as he let a chuckle out when she stood up in shock. It was the first time, that he could recall, laughing in her presence. His laughter was deep and rich, much like his voice as he quieted his spurt of laughter. However an underlying worry spoke through his eyes for Kahlan, he wasn't normally one to show his emotions, and he was definitely surprised when Kah had managed to do so, so easily with just a gaze from those beautiful dark green eyes of hers. Snapping his attention to back at hand just in time to catch her question.

"She's fine and resting in bed, I found her blacked out in the snow." He grunted. When she had spoken, and turned to leave, this time the emotion disappeared from his eyes.

"Where do you think your going?" His voice was slow and cold, his eyes narrowing. "Those lions normally wouldn't have attacked, surely not alone, this is true. The lions leave us in peace because they know just how easy it would be to exterminate them. However you were new prey in the forest, and they decided to test you."

He walked over to stand in front of her. His gaze remained locked on hers. "Inconvenienced? I think not. Look, my mate adores you so, and she wouldn't risk dying out in the cold for just anybody you know, especially after what happened."

For some reason, he felt his arguments weren't being very convincing as he'd like them to be. "And there is no way in hell, that I'm letting you return to those foul beasts who claim to be wolves." He snuffed, turning his nose up in the air at the very thought of that pack.

[Anakalia]

I looked at Kuy suprised to hear she had blacked out. I was further suprised when he told me that Kahlan had adored me so much. Then once again suprised when i had heard what he said about my own pack.
I looked up to him suprised. "I am so sorry."
Kuy turned around to walk to the den again "Come."
It was a short and quick command but i followed anyways. I had no idea that this wolf might have cared a little then i thought its proly for Kah's sake.

I followed into the the den when we got back i was frezzing cold. I looked around and saw Kah laying in the corner i could see the pain on her face.
"I am so sorry Kahlan." I looked to the ground.

He nodded gruffly as she began to follow him back to their den.

I look up with a surprised look on my face when I scented Anakalia. I struggled to my feet when my mate and friend walked in. I had been curled up in the corner, dug myself a nice listen depression in the pelts about to nod off when they appeared. Drowsily I smiled. I was feeling better, but pain shot up my spine when I stood. I shook my head at her and simply said, "Don't be."

[Anakalia]

"But its all my fault." I knew she was in pain and i cringed inside at it. I looked at her. "You should go to bed Kahlan. By the way thank you again for letting me stay i am glad i have befriended you. Its been the best choice i've made so far."
I sighed looking away again. I sat down close to her. "I hope you feel better soon." I saw Kuy pad softly over to Kah, and rub his head against her softly.

[Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander]

I smiled on the outside but I wanted to scream at everyone that I was just perfectly fine. "And I am glad to have befriended you as well."

As the two walked over to me, I settled back into where I had been resting and sighed with content, closing my eyes. "I'll be fine, just a little back ache is all."

I looked up and sighed. I walked over to the kill and looked up to them as if for permission. When Kah nodded her head i took a large bite from the deer savoring its taste. When i finished i walked to the fire and laid down. "I would apreciate it if you told me nore about your selves if you dont mind."
I lay there waiting for an answer.

I had placed my head on my paws as she went over to grab a quick bite and when she came back and asked her question I looked up. I had to wonder what she would want to know.

"Well anything specific?"

"Anything, everything. Whatever you wish to tell. How did you and Kuy meet? How long have you been together?"
I sighed and layed my head down.
"If you don't mind that is."

Settling down to tell my story, I began to speak.

"Kuy and I met one day while I was out hunting in the forest. I was hunting a deer, and just happened to be alone for once on the hunt. Apparently Kuy had been watching me for a while now, and knew that I was alone. After I had foolishly scared off my prey, I went to go get a drink from the stream and he come over to me. The scent on blood was strong on him, and the first thing he said was that he liked me. At first I couldn't believe what he said to me, as I was looking at him, I believe my jaw was hanging in disabelief," I smiled. "No one before had told me that they liked me straight up and immediately liked his confidence, and him. We started dating shortly after. This was when I was two, and I am now four."

I smiled at the look on her face the whole time she told the story. I laughed when she said her jaw had dropped. I started to rub my head against my paws. I had a slight ich. When i looked up at Kahlan again she had finished her story and was smiling at me. I gave her a right smile back. "Its hard to believe you and Kuy at one point were never together. You guys are just so perfect for each other." I gave her another sly smile as she licked Kuy's ear. I laughed quietly for some sudden reason i felt happy and a little energized but i just lay there and do nothing.

"I can't believe it ethier, I wished he woulda approached me sooner, however."

I said smiling, licking his ear. I was feeling much better, but it was probably because of the effect Kuy had on me when I remembered the happy memories.
