"Hmm...Maybe." I said and walked back to Joram's room. "Hey sweetie. What's wrong?"


When my mom came in abd asked what was wrong I just wanted to be left alone. "Nothing mom just Cassie got Estoni to believe I liked her and then Cassie made fun of her. I yelled at Cassie then Estoni jumped her." I stated simply.

I mused over my thoughts, then got to my paws and decided I would go to talk to my daughter about what happened. I paused in the doorway to Estoni's room, and cleared my throat, getting my daughter's attention.

"What happened out there, Estoni?" I said, creeping into the room and settling down next to her. She looked up at my with those big eyes, and I smiled at her.

"Nothing happened, mother," She said, turning her head away from me.

I streched as I awoke. I hadn't realized I had fallen asleep. As I exited my room i could hear the adult wolves talking in the livingroom. I nodded towards my parents, Kuy, and Kahaln.

My mother gave me a questioning look and I moved my head slightly towards the door signaling that I was going outside. I walk along the river for awhile thinking to myself.

I looked at the water and saw my form standing there. I stared at myself for what seemed like forever hopng that maybe if I stared long enough I would get the answers that alluded my questions. Finally I got angry at not knowing what to do any more. I lifted my paw and slapped the waters surface to get ride of my image.

The blue rings around my eyes now gone. My eyes were all black. I started walking again looking up at the moon and the stars. I loved both night and day but I would always love the moon more.

It would be so easy to love him. He is smart, funny, kind, sweet, and incredibly handsome. She sighed as once again her thoughts had wondered to Joram. Her mother had left after she had said no more on what happened. Getting to her paws, she shook her dark pelt and padded out into the main room. She merely grunted at her parents, and Joram's parents as she passed by and walked out. Just as her tail disappeared in the doorway, she could hear the parents whispering.

Rolling her eyes, she just walked, going wherever her paws would carry her. She thought about the events that had happened today, and she sighed happily when they returned once again to Joram. She closed her eyes, and just walked, feeling the nice cool air of the night gently brush against her.

I kept walking for a while then I broke out into a run. I loved the warm air of the night. It held a calming to have it blow againt me lightly as I ran. I skidded to a stop when I heard another wolf join me. I whipped around in surprise. "Oh it's just you I sneered at Cassie."

She walked up to me slowly. Trying to hard in my opinion. I turned to walk away.

"Wait," she practically cried out.

"What Cassie are you here to ruin my life more. If you don't realize there's NO ONE with me." I said looking around us. "Why don't you just go away!" She walked closer to me then tried to lick my face.

I moved my head to the side. You don't even get to touch me get away.

Stopping dead in her tracks, the scene before her was being played out. She was too far away in the partially dense woods, and dark trees, but the moon was enough to see them in that clearing, yet couldn't hear their voices. She thought she knew what was going on. Chasey had walked up to him slowly, approaching him alone, in the secluded forest. That alone was enough to get her seething mad. She saw Chasey walk up to him, and what looked like licking his face, but he turned, as if afraid someone was watching them.

Horrified, she watched on in silence.

I moved away from her more and sighed. "Go away Cassie." I said coldly to her. "All you want is to be leader of the pack anyways we all no that." I took in a deep breath a familier scent drifting towards me.

I took a second breath and it hit me. I looked up into the forset on top of the hill there. There she was. Estoni.

Noooo!!! I knew what she would think now that she saw me and Cassie together and alone. I turned away from Cassie and ran full speed towards Estoni. About a second after I started she ran away.

He had noticed her standing there, it was obvious when he looked up at her. She couldn't believe it. He had said he wasn't with her! But now, they were alone, in a clearing. Oh, how foolish she had been! To believe a word he said! A silent tear rolled down her cheek, as he started to bound up the hill towards her, and turning, she ran as hard and as fasta s she could, tears now freely rolling down her face.

Oh, how stupid she had been!

I ran as hard as I had ever run before. Unlike Estoni though I could go for greater distances then she she could go for a while but not as long as I. I screamed after her "Estoni wait, please let me explain. It's not what you think it is. She wasn't running back to the den which confused me I had no idea where she was going at all.

"Estoni please, please let me explain." I could not believe this was happening. I knew just how much I really liked Estoni I didn't want her to believe I had done this to her. But what confused me the most was the fact she was so upset. She didn't like me I know she didn't.

She knew Joram could go for longer distances, but there was no one who was faster then her at sprinting. And she had sprinted in the beginning. Now she was slowing down, because now she needed endurance, not speed - otherwise there was absolutely no hope in out-running him. Atleast she had a chance if she dodged this way and that.

She heard him scream for her, but she screamed back, "NO! I've seen enough!" Diving, she took a sharp left turn and sprinted off that way, but slowly after a few leaps, conserving. She was just running wherever her paws would take her, even if was far away from everything she knew.

I knew she would slow to a pace so I did the same following her scent carfully.

I was following her for a while. I had no idea where we were going and I know we would realize we were lost. We were running for a while now and I knew she'd be tired soon and have to stop. So I followed at a steady pace.

Her scent got stronger suddenly so I slowed to a walk following it. She was sitting breathing hevily. "Estoni are you okay? Please let me explain." I said when I saw her up closer.

She looked up at him, anger in her eyes. "You don't need to explain anything," She said, sucking in a big gulp of air after speaking. She was tuckered out. Her sides heaved heavily, and she dropped to the floor to lay on her side. She didn't care, she'll lay her all night. Eventually, he'd have to give up.... would he?

I just about jumped out of my skin when I heard how pissed she was. Then I about cried out when I saw her fall to the ground.

"You don't understand." I said exasperated. "I don't like her. All she wants from me is my pack when I take over. I don't want that I want someone who loves me. Not someone who loves me for what will rightfully be mine." My voice rose slowly though I was not pissed at her or even angry at her.

I wanted her to believe me so badly. "I don't like her at all, but then again that could be becasue I love somebody else." I said walking closer to her and looking at her worried about her well being. I used my mizzle and rubbed her paw slightly.

She flicked her ear in his direction, listening to him explain even as she told him he didn't need to explain. She noted how the anger began to rise in his voice, and it pained her heart to know that she somehow caused it.

She lifted her head slightly to look at him, all the anger gone from ehr eyes. Instead it was replaced with a new emotion, something she had never experienced to this magnitude before. Love. Then he finally said what she thought she would never hear, especially when he walked over toward her, and bent down to nuzzle her paw. Instinctively she reached up the best she could and licked his cheek.

I almost jumped back in surprise when she licked my check, but instead I lay down beside her and rubbed her neck with my muzzle loving the fact I could finally touch her the way I had always wanted to. I lay my head upon her paws and she lay her head on my back. I smiled happily.



I looked at the others worried about Joram and Estoni had been gone for a while now. Kahlan too looked worried.
