Snowy Forest

[Zeddicus Zu'l Zorander]

For once, Kuy was up before me. He was devouring much of what was left of what they had caught two days ago. Four adult wolves, and who knows how many pups in Kah's stomach, he wondered, and a smile brightened his features. It was dark out like lways whenever he awoke, but darker then normal. Black storm clouds had riden out into the night sky and covered every star and the moon.

He would wait for Palaina to awake before setting out to hunt. He knew nothing of the danger that would face them this night.

[Anakalia]

I sighed as i felt Palaina get up but i was to tiered to care what he was doing. I lay there and slept.
I don't know what time it was but i got up hurridly when i heard Kahlan growling and braking insanely. What the hell?

I ran into the livingroom. That's when i heard what was outside and i started to growl frantically along with Kahaln. I went close to the opening and snapped at what was there but had to jump back again as it reached for me.

An unusal scent had reached my nose, and now I knew I had to defend my home. When I looked out of my bedroom, I saw the wierd contraption they had. I barked and growled, alerting Anakalia as she came out of her own room. I growled once more when a paw or hand reached in. The stench was unbearable. I raced up and snapped at the hand, and the thing jerked back and released a howl of anger. Triumphet, I barged out of my den.

What was waiting on the other side was a complete shock. Something snapped around my neck, and I dropped to the floor. Writhering, I felt a strong pulling on me, lifting me back on my feet and noticed I had a stick jutting from my neck. No not jutting from my neck, the stick was holding the thing that had snapped shut over my neck. I shook my body to and fro to try and shake it off, but it wouldn't.

I snarled and tried to lunge at the thing, human I assumed by their looks was holding on to me. I had only seem them once in my life and knew what destruction they had with em. Palaina had spoken of two, but there was much more then two here, I noticed as the humans advanced quicker towards me. Another thing snapped around my neck, and at the end of the second pole was another human. I writhered, frightened for my pups. I released a howl of distress.

[Anakalia]

I heard Kahlan cry out in distres and i ran out full speed. I saw what i could only guess was humans. I growled loudly lunging afte rthe first one i saw. I grabbed him by the leg and bit down. He tasted fowl. He cried out in pain.

I looked at Kahlan. i was worried about her. they had these weird things about her neck. Suddenly i had one too. I kept attacking the first guy though and when i thought he was of no threat anymore i went after the next. I heard a loud noise kind of like a pop and something hit me in the side. Suddenly everything went dark.

I cried out in pain when I was jabbed in the side, it felt strange, like something was coursing through my body. I saw Anakalia drop beside me. Growling I Try to take a step forward, adrenaline rushing through my body, when I felt another thing get me in the swide, and I too, was down.

"Holy crap," One of the humans commented as soon as both wolves were down, and he let out a breath in a sigh. He had brown-hair and his arms were shaking. He was the one holding Anakalia with the catch pole, and he turned toward his bodies who weren't holding down the black wolf. Nodding, he gestured them inside, instructing them to check for pups or any other wolves inside.

When they came back claiming that nothing else was in there besides the carcass of a bear and a deer, the brown-haired man nodded. Handing the pole to one of his co-workers he knelt and examined both wolves.

"Odd fur, dark silver color, female, approx. four years of age." He said, holding a tape recorder to his mouth. He lifted one of her eyelids. "Icy blue colored eyes. Get her to the van for more futher examination." He nodded, and the two men he sent inside lifted the silver wolf and carried her over to a sling with straps.

He walked over to the black wolf now. "Black fur, female, approx. four years of age." He said, dropping to a knee to look at her eyes. "Green eyes." He motioned the two men holding the black female to also take her to one of the slings.

"Good catch boys, good catch."

[Anakalia]

I fell through into my dreams. I was fighting the stranger again. Slowly and grogilly i woke up. I was on a hard floor. It was extremly cold in here. I let out a small whimper. When i stood i almost feel over. I was dizzy. I looked around to see bars all around me. I looked ot my left and i saw Kahlan next to me in a diffrent cage.

"Kahlan!" I yelled in fear for her. She slowly roused from sleep. "Are you okay?" I asked worried about her and the pups. I ran at the cage hoping to some how get out. Instead i was thrown back. I growled in frustration. I sat up and shook my head. I looked at ehr again.

I couldn't make sense of anything around me. I was laying on a cold smooth surface, and I heard a voice off in the distance, but oddly close. I lifted my head slightly, and as my eyes tried to focus I could make out the bars in front of me.

"Huh?" I ask, my voice groggy. I tried to get to my feet, but slipped on the cold hard surface. "I think I'm fine." I said, staring around me. It was dark, and with little light that came from an odd thing overhead. It just gave me enough light to see her and I, and what we were enclosed in.

"Where are we?"

[Anakalia]

"I'm not sure where we are." I looked around us again. It was a white room woth many cages.

I heard a door open and footsteps fall across the ground. They were nearing us. A man stoped outside our cages and looked at us both. He then said something i wasn't certain of. The other man who had entered with him went to Kahlan's cage. I let out a deep threatining growl and raced at the wall that was holdong me in again. I barked and snapped at them menicingly.

Suddenly the guy had stoped and left Kahlan alone. I clamed just slightly though.. I hoped they would take me over her. The man made his way over to me. I took a step back and sat down. He went to open my cage then stopped and headed for Kahalan's cage again. I started to growl and bark again standding against it. I barred my teeth at them.

They still took her away. "NOOOO," I howled in the room. "Bring her back!"

I squirmed as I they pulled me out, and I oddly felt weaker then I normally did. I groled, threateningly and they put this thing over my muzzle, which I tried to bite at their hands for. It caused me to get held down by the two men who had brought me out of my cage. I looked back just as the door was closing and saw her looking after me.

I was being carried down a white hall, and I just didn't feel like resisiting. I was keeping my strength up. Yet again, I was placed on a cold metal table, but this time the humans held me down and took several pictures of me, which they then lifted onto this lighted surface. They commented and exclaimed while I stared on. I was looking at the pictures, mainly the one of my stomach. In it I saw my pups. I didn't count them, I was just shocked that they were able to photograph my unborn children.

Still stunned, I found myself back in the room with Anakalia, and them closing up my cage. I didn't know how I got there so fast, or how long I was gone.

I silently paced in the small room that i now belonged in. I wounder what they're doing to her I thought. While she was gone there were moments where i would get frustrated and trow myself against the walls again. You could see a dent stating to form. I also wondered what the guys were doing, and how they reacted when they saw we werent there and they got the scent of the humans.

I growled when i heard the door open. I saw them bring Kahlan in again. She looked so tiered and so helpless. it was weird to see her tha way. I wanted to cry out and tell her to fight back but I knew it wouldn't help she didn't have much energy. Besides she was probably trying to save it anyways. When she was in her room once again i went to the wall closest her.

"What did they do to you?" I asked afrai of the answer.

I looked up and turned my head towards Anakalia. "I don't know what they did. They held me down under this thing that moved all over, and when the thing stopped moving, they held up these sheets to the lighted surface and I could see my pups. I don't know how they did it."

I said, remembering the blinding white lights that came with each click of the big machine that was held over me, and the pictures that they put on the screen. It was just.. I didn't know the word.

"That's weird," i said sighing in thought. SHe looked so tiered. "Why don't you lay down and go to sleep i'll wake you if they come for you again."

I sat and watched her slowly drift into sleep. I was becoming very protective of this one. How intresting almost a week and i consider her a close friend. Closer then any other friends i have ever had. I would trust this one with my life along with Kuy, and Palaina. She ha a very uneasy sleep. I could tell from the way she moved. I felt so horrible. I should have done a better check of the grounds then i had done.

I looked up quickly when i heard he door open. I stood there with my head quirked to the side a little. I hadn't starte to bark yet. I had a feeling they were coming for me and not for her again. I was right i let them take me quietly. I assumed they did the same thing to me as they did to Kahalan. She was right it was a weird thing. The only thing that was diffrent then her story is that i had nothing inside my stomach. One of them turned to me and smiled evily. I growled slightly through what they had over my mouth.

I nodded and drifted to sleep, closing my eyes and resting my head on my paws.

I awoke some time later, I couldn't guage the time because there was no daylight or moonlight in this room, and I looked over to Anakalia's cage. I jumped to my paws when I saw she wasn't there and let out a surprised bark.

I looked around when they took me into another room. Kahlan said nothing about another room. They put this thing around my neck so i couldn't sit down they were holding me up. They stuck this thing in my arm. It felt like it pinched me. I saw red fill this tube. I let out a surprised bark.

They were talking my blood. I growled again slightly. After they did this though they led me back into the caged room. I saw Kahlan she was a wake and she looked worried

"Where did they take you? WHy didn't you wake me?"

I sighed and sat down. They did the same thing to me as they did to you just i think they also took my blood." I qurked my head to the side. I didn't wake you because i saw no need you were asleep and they weren't coming for you." I lay down i was tiered from my exertion today of trying to get out of this stupid place.

I stared off at her. They took her blood? "They didn't take mine, I wonder why they took yours." I said, thingying my head to the side. She was tired, just like I was when I came back into the room. I allowed myself to sit down and I told her to rest.
